Carbon: The wear resistance of high-manganese steel castings is not that the higher the carbon content is, the higher the wear resistance is, but there is a limit value. When the carbon content is higher than 1.4%, many carbides are precipitated in the as-cast state. When the water is toughened, the carbides are not completely dissolved. In the austenite, the carbides in the interstitial solid solution also reach saturation, which not only does not have good wear resistance, but also reduces the strength and toughness of the material, and is easily broken during service.
